Certified licensed technicians are required for a number of reasons, the most important reason is training. The CSA standard requires Master Plumbers with the O.W.W.A. Cross Connection Control Certification to ensure the proper procedures are followed while surveying, selecting, installing, testing and sometimes repairing backflow preventers. It is this training that keeps your risk of a cross connection incident to a minimum. Should the unfortunate occur and a cross connection creates an indecent it is that training that will ensure you are protected from the law.
