What are the actual steps involved in getting a test done?
What are the actual steps involved in getting a test done?
Simply the following:
1. Contact Proactive Water Solutions
- We will discuss the details with you and agree on a fee for the test (we offer flat rate pricing).
2. Establish time of test
- We will work with the tenant/owner/user to determine a mutually agreeable time to test.
3. On the day of the test
- Our tester will show up minimum 15 minutes prior to test time in order to show you qualifications and ID.
- Then the tenant/owner/user will make final arrangements for water shut off.
4. Test
- Our testator will carry out the physical aspects of the test. What happens next is based on the results:
PASS
A tag is required to be affixed to the device & signed by the qualified tester performing the test
FAIL
a) Valve is cleaned/inspected/lubed and retested. In nine out of ten initial tests these actions will remove debris causing a fail result.
b) If a) does not rectify the fail, parts may be need replacing and the valve will have to be retested.
c) In the case of older valves with parts no longer available, the valve will have to be replaced.
5. We will place the line back into service after checking with the tenant/owner/user that it is safe to do so.
6. Tenant/owner/user will then receive a work order for the service performed at the agreed upon price
- If repairs are/were required, a price will be quoted and authorized prior to work being performed.
7. Our tester will then supply the required documentation and contact information in accordance with your municipality's requirements.
