ProActive Water Solutions Helping in the Community
Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter is a Toronto-based organization that provides support and temporary shelter for women and children escaping violence.
For over ten years, the ProActive staff have helped with the fundraising endeavours of the Ernestine’s shelter, primarily with their annual “Affair”. We are all passionate about helping the Shelter in any way possible.
A little story… The first year I helped Ernestine’s was about 13 years ago. They called looking for donations to buy Christmas presents for the 14 children they had at that time. So my family and I went shopping for 14 extra kids. I asked Sharlene, the shelter contact, what the ages were and she told me ages and sexes. I am not even sure why I did it. I spent a total of 400 dollars on 14 gifts. That Christmas was special. I am not even sure if they were good gifts or bad gifts. But this I do know, it changed my life. I felt like I did something special. I knew within that it was a good deed, and I highly recommend doing something like this. On a side note, two weeks after I delivered the gifts, a gentleman called me and needed a considerable amount of work done. I had never heard of him before nor have I heard from him since, but it does lend to the old adage “give and ye shall receive”.

Oh and, if you’re interested, the Affair is held in the third week of April every year. It truly is a feel good event.
